The first of Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation’s summer monthly Lake Talk and Eats program will be Saturday, June 2.
Held at the WACF Education Center on SR 13, one mile south of Syracuse, the event will be from 9 to 11 a.m.
Aaron Stump, the habitat programs coordinator at Indiana Wildlife Federation, will give a talk at the Ruddell Pavilion on friendly garden and landscaping practices.
Following the talk there will be native plants for sale by local nurseries. Native plants will be offered by Clayton Garden Center, Myers Landscapng and Riverview Nursery. Members of the Syracuse-Wawasee Garden Club will be planting peat pots with complimentary native plants, while supplies last. Annette Webb will also be offering, for sale, her pure earthworm castings, which will add microbial life and never burn plants or roots.
Of course there will be a light breakfast available.
