Lakeland area foodies may be pleased to know their options will soon be increased with the addition of four new eateries with Syracuse addresses in the coming month. They include a weekend brunch kitchen, a family-run Mexican restaurant, a neighborhood cafe and a coffee shop.
Currently open for business is Brew City Roasting, located at 605 S. Huntington St. Brew City is a “female-owned micro batch coffee roasting company out of Glendale, Ariz., focusing on beans from female run plantations out of Central and South America.” Brew City’s hours are 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. everyday, with free delivery available Wednesdays. For more information, go to www.brewcityroastingcompany.com or visit them on Facebook.
Farm House Kitchen, a “farm to fork brunch kitchen” will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, starting July 1, in the former Dewart Lake Inn location, 9522 N. 300E, Syracuse. In addition, the Farm House is a full-time catering enterprise. The owners, Chris and Shanda Scheeren, also own the nearby Blue Barn Berry Farm. For more information, visit Farmhouse Kitchen and Catering on Facebook.
Also opening in early July is Cafe Liefde, a “cozy neighborhood cafe serving wholesome food and craft cocktails made with love,” which is appropriate, as “liefde” is Danish for “love.” Cafe Liefde is located in the former Bushong Barbershop/Wawasee Antiques building, 105 W. Main St. Hours will be 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday; 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays. Los Toritos Mexican Restaurant, previously located in Logansport, will reopen in Syracuse the week after July 4 in the former Duffy’s location, 717 S. Huntington St. Owner Shayla Canseco described Los Toritos as a “family restaurant.”
